What is openshare?
openshare is a Content Management System designed for non-technical knowledge workers to share information using web technology – easily, quickly, and securely. It allows end users to publish, access, and share information while giving administrators and managers complete control over the presentation, style, security, and permissions of the associated content. Because it works with open standards, runs as a thin client within Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, and works with the existing productivity applications and networking environment at site, openshare minimizes the total cost of ownership by ensuring easy deployment and maintenance with little or no training required.
openshare’s fully scalable solutions can be used to build a corporate intranet and website, or be developed into a large enterprise information portal. Its single platform environment manages all information within an organisation from creation to archiving and disposal.
openshare is compatible with practically every application format, from text-based documents to images and video streaming. Additional bolt-on modules offer further enhanced functionality to develop search, management, categorisation and publication features as well as expanding interactivity and security.
openshare’s cost-effective purchase price and reasonable maintenance costs means that it can be used by small and medium sized businesses as well as larger international organisations.
openshare was first developed in 1996, and is provided by openshare Content Management Ltd., a London-based technology firm with offices in the UK and Italy. Its suite of solutions and services are available from openshare CM or any of our international team of approved resellers or technology partners.
